Wahoo Fishing Destin

Wahoo is a scombrid fish found in tropical and subtropical seas worldwide. It is a great fish for sports fisherman because of its speed and quality meat. Wahoo have a long body with a blue back and silvery sides. They have been recorded at 2.5 meters in length and up to 180 pounds.

With an elongated body and silvery sides the Wahoo much resembles the King Mackerel, though the Wahoo can be distinguished by its fold of skin that covers its mandible.

Wahoo can swim up to 60 mph making them some of the fastest fish in sea. Because of this and the delicate meat they provide, Wahoo have become a popular catch in today’s sport fishing society.

These prized fish are best caught in the warmer months between April and October. If you are interested in taking home your Wahoo trophy fish then feel free to call us and schedule your meeting.
