Duck Hunting on the Choctawhatchee Bay
When people go to Destin they usually don’t think about duck hunting. Duck hunting is a great way to get away and socialize with friends or family! The estuaries surrounding the gulf coast is the last stop to large amounts of wintering diving ducks each year, around 20,000 just on the Choctawhatchee bay on a normal year.
The Choctawhatchee bay and surrounding creeks, holds large numbers of Redheads, Bluebills, Buffleheads and Canvasbacks! But it is not uncommon to have Oldsquaws, White Wing Scoters, Common Scoters, Surf Scoters or Goldeneyes to come in your decoy spread.
Great for father and son trips or anyone who loves to duck hunt! We offer first class guided diver duck hunts out of layout boats, waders, or blinds. Our layout boats are great for kids since they are wide, stable, and dry.
Most of our diver hunts start around an hour before daylight and go until 10:00 a.m. or until we shoot our limit of birds. Depending on the situation some weeks we have to use 15-20 dozen decoys so an earlier departure may be scheduled.
